Alex PTC:
“Hello and welcome to THE BUNKER, YouTube’s answer to debunking weird, wonderful myths and theories you may or may not even know existed. In today’s show, Katie visits Broadditch Farm in Kent to investigate their spooky Halloween events and puts John to the test with some Halloween myths. But first, we’ve all been there: you’ve been out for some pints, maybe some cocktails, possibly a couple of shots? And then, sadly, comes the hangover. But what exactly is a hangover, and more importantly, can you cure it? I sent Jason to find out…”

Establishing shots / GVs of pub/drinking
|
Jason VO:
“Believe it or not, hangovers remain somewhat of a mystery to the scientific community but we do know there are a number of chemical processes that lead to a hangover”
|

PTC in bar (?) / Jason presenting / Visual demonstration of hangover gubbins / Graphics? / CU of face gradually paling up and beginning to sweat.
|
Jason PTC:
“To put it simply with a few big words: when we drink, the enzymes in our liver transform alcohol into something called acetaldehyde, which is then broken down by glutathione into acetates, which are absorbed into the body. However, as we drink more, our stores of glutathione start to run out, meaning that more acetaldehyde is left to absorb into the body. And since acetaldehyde can be anywhere between 10 and 30 times more toxic than alcohol itself, we begin to experience headaches, nausea and the sense of impending doom of the dreaded hangover.”

Mid shot of Jason, then zoom out to wide to reveal Aidan
|
Jason PTC:
“So how do we cure the hangover? Is it even possible? This is Aidan [Aidan is revealed in shot], and he’s kindly offered to help us test and possibly debunk some myths about curing hangovers.”
|
01:15
|
Mid and close-up shots of Jason preparing fry-up in kitchen
|
Jason PTC:
“My personal fav treatment for a hangover: the badboy fry-up. We’ve got some eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, fried onions and chips if you’re hard like me. Now these beauties [onions] happen to be rich in sulfur, which helps build up glutathione, so in theory, should help to speed up the recovery process.”
|

|
Seq / GVs of Aidan eating the fry-up
|
Something should probably go here maybe a bit “ Look at him taking out that sausage, pure instinct .” from the last bit maybe or music maybe maybe

Jason PTC / Aidan Interview:
“So it’s been a few hours, how are you feeling?” [...] “Next up, keeping hydrated”
|
01:46
|
Seq / GVs of Aidan drinking, waking up, drinking lots of water
|
Jason PTC / Music (?)
“Hangovers can make us feel dehydrated because alcohol decreases the body’s production of anti-diuretic hormones, which is used to reabsorb water into the body. This means that we lose more fluid than normal through urination. So drinking water as you go seems like a good idea to try to prevent a hangover.”

Jason PTC:
“How about the ‘hair of the dog’ [pan to dog]? - Clip dogs hair / Sprinkle in drink
|
02:12
|
WALKING DOG MAYBE?
|
Jason PTC / VO:
“This is the myth that drinking more alcohol after a night out will ease the effects of your hangover. The phrase comes from an old idea that if you were bitten by a rabid dog, you could be cured by eating the hair of the dog that bit you.”
|
02:24
|
Seq / GVs of Aidan drinking lots and lots
|
Jason VO:
“Unfortunately there is no scientific evidence for this to cure hangovers, or even rabies, so probably not the best idea”
|

Jason PTC / Aidan Interview:
“How are you feeling man?”
[Vomiting noises]
“Okay, well there’s one more supposed cure from the island of Puerto Rico...”

“Thanks for the advice Jason, I think I’ll stick to one drink for now. [sips drink] It is October, which means that Halloween is just around the corner, so our reporter in the field, Katie Joslin has gone to Hauntfest at Broadditch Farm to investigate the spooky goings-on and to put some Halloween myths to the test… This drink really tastes funny…”

[John Quiz]
KJ: “Thanks John, sounds like a lot of fun. Now to see if this is really the place to be at Halloween we just have to test you on some myths and facts about the holiday - so all you need to do is answer whether you think it’s a myth or fact. Ready?:
You have one minute starting… Now.
The magician and escapologist Harry Houdini died on Hallowe’en in 1926.
FACT - There is also an official Houdini seance conducted every year
If you spot a spider on Halloween it means that the spirit of a deceased loved one is watching over you.
MYTH
HALLOWEEN IS THE DEVIL’S HOLIDAY
MYTH - (Halloween is actually derived from Celtic and Druid ritual, which is separate from Christianity -- meaning “Satan” isn’t even a factor.)
If you’re caught with Silly String in Hollywood on Halloween, you could face a $1,000 fine.
FACT
You should watch out for poisoned sweets whilst trick or treating
MYTH - Whilst there have been a few cases over the decades, this myth has been debunked by police authorities and folklorists and Halloween sweets are considered safe
If a bat is spotted flying around your house three times, it means that someone in that house would soon die.
MYTH
Ghoulish costumes were originally worn to frighten away spirits of the dead looking for bodies to possess.
FACT
That’s time up, you scored [SCORE], not bad at all.”

Schedule:
We scheduled our shoot days after we agreed them with our contributors. We then scheduled our edit days after that to make sure we had enough time to put the report together before the deadline.
18th September - 13th October: Pre-production - planning and contacting people
16th October: 10:00 - Interview and GVs at Broadditch Farm, with John Harris
18th October: 10:00 - Package and studio at Alex's house, with Aidan Robinson-Jones
19th - 25th October: Editing days - including rough and final cuts
26th October: 11:00 - Hand-in day
Doing our shoot in two days means we will have more time in the post-production stage which is where we can refine things and maybe re-do things we forgot/or if we have new ideas, we should have enough time to do these.
Shot list:
I created a rough shot list which we will follow during the shoot. We may change the shots on the filming days but this will help us get started and to keep our structure.
