'AS LIVE' PRODUCTION: Studio Production Report Feedback

Notes from report feedback

My two jobs in the gallery on TX day:
  1. make decisions on content incase we overrun
  2. make sure presenters / contributors say the right thing e.g. they aren't allowed to swear - we tell the presenter what not to say during live show so we don't get sued (in a real live show)
- checking presenters are briefed fully and have background notes. e.g. presenter need to know what audience will talk about so they know how to talk to them, e.g. now 36 with 2 kids, fashion fail is…

- presenter needs every bit of knowledge so they can cope

- I am in charge of Ofcom guidelines - we know what is ok and what isn't ok, within the content

e.g. ant and dec have apologised on television before on behalf of someone who has said the wrong thing

- we can talk to presenters via talkback to remind them of content

- we will have a background information pack on every contributor so we can refer to this because presenters can’t remember every single thing

- making decisions on what fits the brand and channel - make sure our show follows E4 guidelines

- responsible for everyone, VT, promo - just because someone else is making it, I am still responsible

- sub heading - Studio Producing

Helen's feedback

- Focus your report on teaching the reader how to do the various roles you have had to undertake

- Use your case study to provide relevant examples which match with what you are teaching me (this can include when things go wrong!)

- Ensure you demonstrate the learning outcomes of this unit in your report.

- Use conclusion to summarise the knowledge you now have of this sector of employment.

This meeting was primarily for feedback from the rough draft of the report but it brought to light more jobs I need to do for the production, such as the background information pack.
