STORYTELLING: Reworked Pitch and Developed Characters and Story

Reworked pitch:

'A man enters a police station to help with a murder case, unbeknown to the detective the man is the killer.'

JOSEPH MANSFIELD
Growing up, Joseph had a bad childhood, he was surrounded by violence by his father to his mother. He was also badly hurt by his father and was close to death. His mother never let Joseph see the pain she was in so he grew up thinking it was OK to hurt women and they just never told anyone about it. Later, he realised it was not the normal way of life but it was his life now. Therefore, he started murdering the women so they wouldn't be able to tell anyone about it and he'd get away with it. Joseph is tall, dark and in his early 30's. He has been murdering people since he was 21 years old. Because of his dark secret, he keeps himself to himself and has not got any friends. His mother plucked up the courage to leave his father all those years ago and now his father is in prison and his mother lives in London while Joseph lives in Kingsgate, Kent. He likes walking his dog along Botany Bay and often spends a lot of time dog walking because he believes dog is mans best friend.

MIRANDA

Brown-haired and blue-eyed Miranda lives with her husband, Paul, and her two children, Jack and Lucy. She started with the police force five years ago as front line and quickly moved to being a detective a year ago. Miranda had a good childhood with both her mother and father living in London. She has always obeyed the law and now loves her job enforcing it and making a change. Miranda is very good at her job and always catches the culprit and this case will not be any different.
